Barberus Bragge was the chief of the Wizards' Council in 1269 (and probably in years before and after, though this is not known). He introduced the Golden Snidget into the game of Quidditch, bringing one to a game in 1269 and announcing that any player who caught the bird during the game would receive 150 Galleons (QA4).

Modesty Rabnott, angered by the introduction of Snidget-hunting into the game, voiced her disapproval; Bragge, however, merely laughed at her. Rabnott then Summoned the bird when it came near her, stuffed it down her robes, and ran off to release the Snidget. Bragge was furious; however, his advisers calmed him down and he fined her 10 Galleons for disrupting the game (QA4).
