Augusta Longbottom is the grandmother of Neville Longbottom and the mother of Frank Longbottom. Augusta started to raise Neville when his parents were tortured to insanity (GF30).
Augusta is described of usually wearing a long green dress, a tall hat with a stuffed vulture on top and sometimes wears a fox-fur scarf (PA7).
Augusta raised Neville Longbottom in an extremely strict manner; she sent Neville a howler (CS6) and not letting him near a broomstick while he was growing up (PS9). The harsh upbringing could be blamed on Augusta's belief that Neville didn't have enough magic to attend Hogwarts (PS7). She continually harps on Neville when he doesn't live up to his expectations or brings shame upon the family (PA14).
Augusta is constantly looking down on Neville for not displaying much of his father's outstanding talents. She displayed tenderness only once—when visiting Frank and his wife Alice Longbottom at St. Mungo's (OP23)
Augusta is always comparing Neville with Harry Potter (HBP7). She has always shown strong support for Albus Dumbledore and Harry Potter, she has even gone as far as to cancel her subscription with the Daily Prophet when they started to write abysmal articles insulting Dumbledore and Harry (OP11).
Despite Neville's acceptance in Hogwarts Augusta appears to be constantly annoyed with her grandson's ability to misplace his pet frog or book-lists(PS6)(PA4). To help Neville find his lost objects, she sends him, with her barn owl, a Remembrall in his first year(PS9).
Augusta puts high pressure on Neville to perform well in school yet Minerva McGonagall let it slip that Augusta failed her Charms OWL (HBP9).
In the Battle of Hogwarts, Augusta was the last person to appear in the Room of Requirement through the passageway from the Hog's Head, sealing it shut. She inquired as to Neville's whereabouts; when told that he was fighting, she acted as though this were the only logical answer, and seemed proud of him; she then went to assist him (DH31).
