Aidan Lynch is a Quidditch player from Ireland. He plays the position of Seeker in the Irish National Quidditch team during the Quidditch World Cup of 1994 (GF8).

In the final match of the World Cup, Lynch was the last Irish player to enter the stadium, preceded by Beater Connolly, Keeper Ryan, Chasers Troy, Mullet and Moran and second Beater Quigley. Like the rest of the team, he rode a Firebolt and wore a green uniform with his name embroidered in silver on his back.

Shortly after Ivanova scored Bulgaria's first goal, Lynch followed Krum as the latter sped down sharply. Unbeknownst to the Irish Seeker, Krum was conducting a Wronski Feint, and smoothly pulled out of the dive a moment before reaching the ground. Aidan did not do the same; he hit the ground hard with a thud.

Several mediwizards entered the playing field to examine the injured Seeker, who was very shaken. Meanwhile, Krum took advantage of the time-out to search for the Snitch undisturbed. When Lynch finally stood up once more and mounted his broomstick, the crowd applauded; his return seemed to renew the vigour of all Irish players, and the team's Chasers scored multiple times.

Later in the game, Quigley hit a Bludger in Krum's direction, breaking his nose. Aidan Lynch took a sudden dive; he had seen the Snitch. Those in the crowd who supported Ireland cheered him on. Krum's nose was bleeding profusely, but this did not prevent him from following his opponent; he sped down, and soon drew level with Lynch. For the second time, the Irish Seeker hit the ground. He was stampeded by a group of furious Veela. Krum lifted his hand, holding the Snitch, and the match ended. The final score was 170 (Ireland) to 160 (Bulgaria).

Celebrating their victory, the Irish team danced joyously under a shower of golden leprechaun coins. Their supporters cheered wildly, and the Irish national anthem was played. The team did a lap of honour around the stadium, flanked by leprechauns.

Meanwhile, the World Cup was taken to the Top Box. The seven Bulgarian players followed, and shook hands with the Bulgarian Minister for Magic and with Cornelius Fudge. The Irish team arrived at the Top Box soon afterwards; Aidan Lynch, still very shaken after his collision, was supported by Moran and Connolly. Troy and Quigley lifted the Cup high, and the crowd cheered.

After this, the Irish team performed another lap of honour on their broomsticks. Lynch, who had not yet recovered, had to sit on the back of Connolly's broom, clutching the Beater's waist and grinning dazedly (GF8).
