Category:Trade Restrictions
From UnknowableWiki
Trade restrictions are restrictions imposed on the trade of magical objects, creatures or plants, usually because of their dangerousness or potential to attract Muggle attention. There are three classes of trade restrictions:
- Class A Non-Tradeable Goods: Dangerous and/or very rare goods whose sale or importation is severely punished. Examples are Dragon, Acromantula and Chimaera eggs (FBAZ).
- Class B Tradeable Materials: Dangerous and/or rare materials that are subject to strict control (FBAZ). Examples are the Erumpent's horn, tail and Exploding Fluid, and the horn of the Romanian Longhorn dragon (FBAZ).
- Class C Non-Tradeable Substances: Presumably, these goods are considered less dangerous than Class A Non-Tradeable Goods, but they are still banned from trade. Examples are Venomous Tentacula seeds (OP9).
The British Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office also imposes trade embargoes on the import of bewitched objects that have been defined as Muggle artefacts by the Registry of Proscribed Charmable Objects, such as flying carpets (GF7).
