Quidditch is the most popular sport in the Wizarding World. At Hogwarts, the four Houses compete to win the Quidditch Cup. There is also a Quidditch World Cup, held every four years.

Balls

Quaffle

The Quaffle is played with by the Chasers and Keepers. It is bright red, about the size of a football and thrown into the goal posts for 10 points.

Bludgers

Bludgers are hit by the Beaters with bats. These are black, around the size of a cannon ball, and fly around trying to knock people off their broomsticks. There are two in the game.

Snitch

The Golden Snitch is the size of a walnut, gold coloured with two small wings and is played with by the Seeker. When it is caught, the team gains 150 points and the game is over.

Positions

Chasers

Chasers throw around the Quaffle and try to throw it into one of the three hoops at the ends of the pitch. There are three of them playing per team at one time, but only one may be in the scoring area.

Keepers

There is only one Keeper playing per team at any given time. The guard the goal hoops and try to not let the Quaffle go through the hoops.

Beaters

There are two Beaters playing per team at any given time. They hit the the Bludgers with bats and try to knock members of the opposing teams off their brooms.

Seekers

There is only one Seeker allowed to be playing at a time. They try to find the Golden Snitch and catch it for 150 points and ending the game. No other players are allowed to touch the Snitch.
