Alan Rickman is the actor who played the part of Severus Snape in the Harry Potter movies.
Alan Rickman originally was in attendance of the Royal College of Art, intending to become a graphic artist. When he was 26, he was awarded a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and he studied there for three years.
Alan Rickman's acting career began in theater, with a role in the play adaptation of "Dangerous Liasons." His first major film was Die Hard (1988). Among other works, he has featured in Quigley Down Under (1990) and Love Actually (2003).
