About the Author is a short segment of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them that contains basic information about the life of Newton Artemis Fido Scamander. Scamander was born in 1897, attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and worked at the Ministry of Magic for many years. He was awarded an Order of Merlin, Second Class, for his many achievements in Magizoology, and is now retired.
