According to the fourth chapter of Quidditch through the Ages, Bowman Wright is supposed to have invented the Snitch in the 14th century, during Elfrida Clagg's time as Chief of the Wizards' Council. However, according to the dates on his card he lives from 1492 to 1560, which does not match Clagg's lifetime (1612–1687) at all and places his invention in the 16th century.
