In the first half of this century...
- Quidditch spreads across Europe.
- In the early 1400s, the Norwegian wizard Ingolfr the Iambic writes a poem about the game.
- Quidditch is also mentioned in the French play Hélas, Je me suis Transfiguré Les Pieds by Malecrit, also from the early 1400s (QA8).
- The giant Hengist of Upper Barnton is slain by Gifford Ollerton (before 1441) (FW).
During this century...
- Bludgers are carved out of stone, not made from metal. This has the disadvantage that they can be cracked by the magically reinforced Beaters' bats and all players are pursued by flying bits of gravel (QA6).
- Beedle the Bard, a wizard from Yorkshire, writes the wizarding fairy tales known as The Tales of Beedle the Bard (BBi).
- The persecution of witches and wizards by Muggles increases. Although trained witches and wizards are usually to escape trouble with the help of magic, some (like Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington) are trapped without their wand and executed. Wizard children are in great danger, because they cannot control their magic. Because of this, most witches and wizards choose to hide from Muggles (BB1).

Cordelia Misericordia, the first hag representative at the 14th century summit of the Wizards' Council, dies (FW).

The Caerphilly Catapults, a Welsh Quidditch team, are founded (QA7).

The Wizards' Council bans Quidditch-playing "anywhere near any place where there is the slightest chance that a Muggle might be watching or we'll see how well you can play whilst chained to a dungeon wall" (QA5).

The children of butcher Walter Parkin, four boys and three girls, form a Quidditch team called the Wigtown Wanderers. They hardly ever lose a match, perhaps partly due to the fact that the opposing team feels intimidated by the sight of Walter Parkin in the sidelines, carrying a wand and a meat cleaver (QA7).
Lisette de Lapin is convicted of witchcraft in Paris. The night before her execution, she escapes form her prison cell, presumably by turning into a rabbit. Her Muggle guards are accused of helping her escape. Shortly afterwards, a large white rabbit is seen crossing the English Channel in a cauldron with a sail. A similar looking rabbit later becomes an advisor of King Henry VI (BB4).

The first Quidditch World Cup is held. Only European teams compete. In the final, Transylvania plays Flanders. The match is one of the most violent in history. All of the seven hundred possible fouls are committed; many of them for the first time, including the release of a hundred vampire bats onto the field by the Transylvanian Captain (QA6, QA8, PS11). The Transylvanian Tackle, a famous Quidditch move, is first seen at this World Cup (QA10).

- Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington, a wizard at the royal court, is stripped of his wand and locked in a dungeon by Muggles (BB1). He is sentenced to beheading, but because of a blunt sword, his neck is not fully severed from his neck. He is afraid of death and decides to become a ghost instead of passing on to the unknown afterlife (CS8, OP38).
Timeline inconsistencies

There are a number of timeline inconsistencies concerning the 15th century. These concern information from Famous Wizard cards on the one hand and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Quidditch through the Ages on the other hand.
- According to his card, Burdock Muldoon lives in the 15th century (1429–1490), and serves as the Chief of Wizards' Council from 1448 to 1450. According to the introduction to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, however, he is Chief of the Council in the 14th century and is succeeded in office by Elfrida Clagg. But according to her Famous Witch card, Clagg lives from 1612 to 1687, making it impossible that she succeeds Muldoon in office for either of the dates given for his life.
- It says in Quidditch through the Ages that Bowman Wright invents the Snitch in the 14th century, during Clagg's time in office. However, according to the dates on his card he lives from 1492 to 1560, which does not match Clagg's lifetime at all and places his invention in the 16th century.
- The conflicting dates for these historical figures also throw doubts on historical events linked with them, namely the introduction of the Snitch to Quidditch, the abolition of Snidget-hunting, and two summits held by the Wizards' Council to find a definition of beasts and beings.
