The Golden Snidget is introduced to the game of Quidditch by Barberus Bragge, who offers 150 Galleons to the first Quidditch player to catch the bird. Modesty Rabnott, horrified by the cruelty to the Snidget, Summons it and sets it free, resulting in her being fined 10 Galleons and being forced to move in with her sister Prudence. These events are related in a letter from Modesty to Prudence, now on display in the Museum of Quidditch (QA4).
